Flower lovers must have heard of the petunia . Far beyond a single species , Petunia names an entire botanical genus of herbs, which bloom in spring/summer and can be red, blue, pink, orange, purple and white. The leaves are oval and small.

The common petunia ( Petunia x hybrida ) is a species originally from Argentina, therefore, well adapted to the tropical and sub-tropical climate. Small in size, it is a plant that only reaches 40 cm. "You can plant it in small vases, use it as ground cover and even in suspended vases, highlighting its abundant flowering", suggests Regina. "But be aware: petunia is an annual plant, that is, its life cycle is only 12 months".

It multiplies easily by seed , in fertile, well-drained substrate. Watering should be done 2 to 3 times a week, without soaking the soil. For this, evaluate the soil moisture with a finger before adding more water .
